Easing And Physics Tutorial
Q: What is easing?
A: Easing is when you have something like a figures arm slowly progress
in a direction like so l-ll--ll---ll--ll-l
Chapter 1: How to tell from good easing to bad easing.
To tell from the bad easing from the good easing, take a look at this example
and ask yourself which one is bad and which one is good.
1.l--ll---ll----ll-l
2.l-ll--ll---ll--ll-l
If you chose answer 2, then you were right...this is how you want your
animation to look when you have something move.
Chapter 2: How to do easing.
Q: How do you do easing?
A: Easing is quite simple actually and its a main essential for an animator.
1. You have your stick and it stays in one place.
2. Slowly, move the stick about a millimeter from the starting spot.
3. Do the same thing in step 2 but this time, move it about 2 centimeters
4. Now making it go fast means moving your stick around an inch from where it was at.
5. Keep going!
6. Now, make your stick start to come to a stop and follow the directions at the top
7. When your stick stops...you have just done easing
Chapter 3: Physics?
Q: What are physics?
A: Physics are the movement of the character and/or object
Q: How do I do physics
A: First, you'll want to have a stick like defualt then read on to learn how to do physics.
1. Have your stick there just hanging out by himself
2. Have something come towards him or start to make him fall.
3. Use easing as the fall is slowly makes its way down.
4. When he hits the ground, make his body bounce up about 1/2 inch.
5. When he hits the ground again, make his head bounce up and down like a ball but not a lot.
6. When thats over with, you've mastered falling physics!
Chapter 4: Ball Physics
To do ball physics, this requires no easing at all.
1. Have the ball come to the ground at a fast speed.
2. As the ball hits the ground have the ball come up just a little.
3. While the ball is in the air, start to make it come down semi-fast.
4. When you notice it is coming to an end stop the bouncing and you did it.
