What to do if there is a spam attack.

lets start off.... your browsing the forums and you find a spammer is going nuts, attacking every topic in the forum. don't go crazy or anything follow these guidelines

1. dont pm a mod or an admin we dont want people pming us saying "he is attacking my thread!" just report it.

2. if its a shock image or something nasty don't just sit there. add the user to your foes list in the UCP. this will hide ALL posts by that user.

3.under no circumstances should you POST AFTER A SPAMMER. in a spam attack don't post so we know what threads they are posting in. it makes everything easier. if someone has posted in a thread after a spammer flag the spammers post. or if you blocked the spammer but see people responding to his posts, just flag the topic and say that there is spam in it. we'll deal with it then.

4.if no admin or Mod's are on and we're getting totally swamped by spam try to contact a mod or admin. like if you have a couple Mod's MSN's check to see if there on and inform them. its easier to clean up spam when we know there is spam.

5.k you've done all these things.... now what? log off for awhile. go on MSN or some other site. go read a book dammit. let us clean things up.
